Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering

A few hours of your time can make a positive difference in someone’s life. Volunteering to help others is not only a wonderful way to support your community, it also promotes wellness and an active lifestyle.

Our Purpose

Volunteers at Spring Hill Regional Hospital are an integral part of the professional team. Our volunteers strive to provide outstanding service and compassionate care to our patients and to the people who accompany them - friends and family. Volunteers are utilized in many departments throughout the hospital and provide essential support to our hospital staff.

Things You Should Know About Our Program

    • Time Commitment - Depending upon available assignments, volunteers can choose between two shift schedules (8am to Noon or Noon to 4pm).
    • Attendance - Volunteers sign their own record of attendance.  Hours are recorded for annual service awards.
    • Uniforms & Badges - Wearing a volunteer uniform and photo name badge at all times identifies each volunteer as a Spring Hill Regional Hospital team member.
    • Assignments - A job description exists for every volunteer position in the hospital. Assignments are determined based on your specific skills, expertise, personality and interests whenever possible. Open positions will be reviewed with you during your interview.
    • Orientation - All new volunteers are required to attend a half day of hospital orientation. Orientation covers aspects such as fire safety, infection control, customer service, HIPAA, confidentiality, etc.
    • Confidentiality - It is critical that all volunteers maintain a high degree of patient confidentiality, including refraining from talking about patients and their illnesses or conditions. Every patient has a right to privacy.
